Boston Taiwanese Boat Club (BTBC)

Boston Taiwanese Boat Club was founded in 2018 by a group of passionate Taiwanese youth, including professionals and students from the New England area, with the initial idea of having a Taiwanese team participate in the Rhode Island Race & Taiwan Day during its 20th anniversary. BTBC then won a silver medal in 2020 and a gold medal in this race in 2023.

The vision for this team is to build a sustainable platform for the Taiwanese community in the Greater Boston area, use dragon boat races to promote Taiwanese culture and spirit, and develop a team to compete at the highest level.

With strong foundations from previous years, the team has a rolling total of more than 150 members and continues to thrive on the East Coast since its founding. In 2023, the team won 3rd place in the US East Coast regional final race (Mercer) and 5th place in the National Race (CCNC) in Florida, which gave them the opportunity to race in the 2024 World Championship Race (CCWC) in Italy.
